In a pursuit to boost economic sustainability, industrial competitiveness, generate employment and advancement towards achieving sustainable development goals, Union Ministry of Power arm Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) is all set to launch a first-of-its-kind scheme named Assistance in Deploying Energy Efficient Technologies in Industries and Establishments (ADEETIE) on Tuesday (July 15, 2025) in Panipat, Haryana.
This futuristic move is focused on adoption and accelerating of new age cutting edge technologies across the country in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. This scheme is aligned to support India’s climate targets, including reducing emissions intensity by 45% by 2030 and achieving Net Zero by 2070.
The national roll-out ceremony of ADEETIE, to be graced by Union Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs Manohar Lal along with senior officials from the Ministry of Power and Government of Haryana and the heads of State Designated Agencies (SDAs) from across India, is being considered as redefining moment in energy efficiency and climate change journey of India through MSME sector.
The Key highlights of this launch scheme of the event in Panipat would be the launching of the ADEETIE web portal and release of the scheme brochure, signing of Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with major MSME industrial associations of the country, and the felicitation of exemplary MSME units.
Visionary Initiative
ADEETIE is being seen as a visionary initiative which aims to bring in and implement global energy-efficient technologies in the vast and diverse MSME landscape of the country. The scheme provides one of the most sought-out helps from the government - technical handholding and policy support, interest subvention on loans that enable micro and small industries to lower energy costs, an enhanced productivity and strengthen their role in India’s clean energy transition.
A Media Advisor from BEE said about this significant move that ADEETIE will be remembered as a landmark step in embedding energy efficiency into the core of MSME operations, paving the way for greener, more resilient economic growth.
Notably, India has committed to reduce the carbon emissions intensity of its GDP by 45% by 2030, under the Paris Agreement. ADEETIE directly supports this national goal. At the same time, it promotes sustainable industrialization and innovation at the grassroots level. BEE appreciated efforts made by few States like Government of Telangana. The southern state energy department through TS REDCO designated agency has successfully implemented decarburization and energy efficiency pilot projects in MSME clusters across key sectors.
