The Andhra Pradesh government has made a strategic push for homegrown MSMEs, which will contribute to the state's industrial growth.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu inaugurated 49 MSME parks in 17 districts, effectively launching 38 major industrial units. The government made two investments: ₹25,256 crore for 38 industrial units and ₹873 crore for 50 MSME projects.

According to government data, 1,597 MSMEs have already bought land in industrial parks. Furthermore, the government is eager to assist young people in establishing an industrial unit if they present a viable business plan.

Plug-and-play: The model behind the industrial parks

The industrial parks are being built in 175 constituencies around the state on a plug-and-play basis, complete with electricity, water supply, roads, and other infrastructure features.
The 'plug-and-play' approach for industrial parks consists of pre-built, ready-to-use facilities that include all essential infrastructure such as roads and sheds, as well as utilities such as power, water, and internet access.

These structures reduce the time it takes for enterprises to become founded, allowing them to begin operations with minimal delay and expense.

Focus on Youth, Women and First‑Generation Entrepreneurs

With an objective to generate 20 lakh new jobs through the "One Family, One Entrepreneur" vision, the government is emphasizing youth-led and first-generation entrepreneurship with this initiative. Women entrepreneurs and small business owners from semi-urban and rural areas have received special attention, with the promise of assistance in land allotment, financial linkage, skill development, and market access.

There are approximately 3.6 million MSMEs registered in the state out of which:

• Micro enterprises: 1,863,279
• Small enterprises: 16,800
• Medium enterprises: 956 
• IMEs (UAP): 1,743,451

Government Initiatives and Schemes

The government of Andhra Pradesh supports the growth of MSME sector with a multitude of schemes including:

AP MSME ONE: A single-window portal designed to streamline processes, provide business development services, and offer monitoring and evaluation dashboards.

Financial Incentives (Subsidies)

• 100% reimbursement of stamp duty and transfer duty on industrial land/shed purchases.
• Power consumption subsidy for a period of five years.
• Reimbursement of State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) for micro, small, and medium enterprises.
• Credit guarantee schemes to facilitate access to finance.

Skill Development & Technology

To increase competitiveness, the state has established technology centers and cooperated with organizations such as UNIDO to implement Industry 4.0 technologies (AI, Robotics, and Smart Manufacturing).

In addition, programs such as the AP MSME Export Convention are conducted to help MSMEs get market access and connect with overseas clients.
