2026/01/20 11:31 am

The Uttar Pradesh government, through the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), met with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) to propose the creation of a Japanese MSME-focused park near Noida International Airport.
The discussion focused on marketing the Yamuna Expressway region as a strategic location for Japanese manufacturing companies, including small and medium-sized industries.

Key Discussions

The Yamuna Expressway region offers numerous benefits, including multi-modal connectivity anchored by the upcoming Noida International Airport, proximity to the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, access to dedicated freight infrastructure, and available industrial land at competitive prices, as highlighted by YEIDA CEO R K Singh.

The conversations also focused on Uttar Pradesh's single-window clearance system, which makes doing business easier for Japanese investors, as well as potential in sector-specific parks like as Medical Devices, Film City, Textile and Apparel, and Electronics.

What does this mean for Japanese MSMEs?

According to JETRO officials, 1400 Japanese MSMEs have registered with JETRO and aim to establish manufacturing bases in India, making this park a potential focus for collaboration and expansion. The officials also lobbied for current Japanese enterprises to expand, with intentions to formalize connections through a memorandum of agreement.
The projected Japanese MSME park near Noida Airport provides small Japanese enterprises with targeted infrastructure and policy support to facilitate market entry in India.

The discussions also highlighted Uttar Pradesh's single-window clearance system to ease business for Japanese investors, alongside opportunities in sector-specific parks like Medical Devices, Film City, Textile and Apparel, and Electronics.

Infrastructure Advantages

Plug-and-play industrial installations offer ready-to-use facilities for small businesses, reducing setup costs and deadlines. Multimodal connection through the future Noida International Airport and the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor improves logistics, trade, and supply chain efficiency for both exports and domestic operations.

Business Facilitation

Uttar Pradesh's single-window clearance system simplifies clearances and reduces bureaucratic barriers for overseas SMEs. Competitive land pricing and proximity to dedicated freight corridors reduce operational costs while facilitating expansion for the 1,400 JETRO-registered Japanese MSMEs eyeing India.

Strategic Opportunities

Clustering with sector-specific parks like Medical Devices, Electronics, and Textiles fosters collaborations and supply chain integration with existing Japanese firms. Potential MoU with JETRO ensures long-term support, positioning the park as a hub for manufacturing growth and investment security.

Uttar Pradesh plans to attract Japanese MSMEs to the proposed park near Noida Airport through investor-friendly policies emphasizing ease of business and cost efficiencies.
